"... just got back from my annual dexascan and they said I measured 5'5" -- a full inch taller than last year! I said maybe my pilates was helping me stand taller!" Sharon J
If you have the opportunity to take a MELT class, go! You will learn very easy, short, pain-free techniques, using your breath, a ball and/or a "soft" roller, all that rehydrate connective tissues. Much like a dry sponge after it's placed in water, hydrated connective tissue works better. So, often before and after long car rides, tennis, golf, gardening, babysitting grandchildren etc, I "Melt". I do a few exercises or maybe just one and I feel as if I have been realigned, no longer lopsided ..... I feel balanced.
Just try it: I think you will like it!

Loved our melt class today. Especially encouraging is knowing you are training me to do this on my own. Since I'm gone half the year I need to know how to self massage. Is there a limit to how often in a day I can do melt? It just feels so good!

"Here is my feedback on our session with the spine corrector: I LOVED IT. I went to bed feeling 7 inches taller and 10 inches longer in my limbs and torso. Everything in my anterior and posterior torso felt "corrected," my s.c.m & scalenese felt like they had a very nice stretch and I walked very straight on the way home." Becca M
...I try to Melt every day or at least before I play Golf or Tennis. I think it’s helped to keep me loose and prevent new injuries along with being relaxing, almost like having a mini massage. I had purchased the book but your sessions made it a lot easier to follow and ensure I was doing the process properly. I think it’s a wonderful treatment to add to anyone’s stretching/exercise program. It’s easy to do, doesn’t hurt and is time efficient. You can do a little or a lot and still feel as if you’ve accomplished something and helped your body get ready for whatever it is you are going to do.

I have found the “Rebalancing and Upper Body Length Sequence” to be very energizing and calming. In addition, both the “Neck Release Sequence” and the “Upper Body Compression Sequence” have relieved the tension and pain that have bothered me for some time.
The Melt Method is very supportive for the movement required in golf. The general principle in golf is to keep one’s core calm while swinging around the body. Since golfers will do anything to improve their game, I feel the Melt movements are a real value. Golf has a way of punishing the player with aches and pains if one does not swing properly. The Melt Method certainly contributes to eliminating this consequence.

I MELT after every spin class. After a few minutes every little ache and pain is gone. It's actually quite life changing.

"Before seeing Jan, I was having bad knee pain. She immediately noticed that I was walking with my feet in an outward, non-parallel position. She explained that knee pain is often associated with hip issues and that my walk was exacerbating the problem. She suggested that I make an effort to correct my walking pattern. Within a few days of walking with my feet in a parallel position, I noticed a great reduction in my knee pain. I was amazed at the result as I was afraid that knee replacement surgery was definitely in my future. She also gave me specific exercises to reduce neck tension and back issues. I have been seeing a chiropractor for six years with the same complaints and he never addressed my walk. I would highly recommend Jan and the Pilates method to anyone having problems, or more importantly, to prevent problems from occurring in the first place. It is a wonderful way to keep the body in alignment which is the key to maintaining good structural health." Phyllis B
